David,
Sorry for the late response. We get a ton of emails a day. There is no accurate way to tell how much muscle weight you are putting on in a short time. The average man, in a well designed and executed strength training program, will put one pound of muscle on per month. However, you can lose two pounds of fat a week if you're burning 1000 calories more than your eating. Concentrate on the weight lost on your scale. Weigh yourself once a week, at the exact same time, and that will give you good information as to how you are progressing. |

How long should you excersize on the eliptical at the gym for? I do a half hour a day, but I am not sure if that is going to help me lose weight and inches. |

The only way to know the answer to your question is to know how many calories you are consuming each day. The only way to lose weight, which results in lost inches, is to burn more calories than you're eating. We created fatburn to give you that accurate information each day. Use the site, you won't be disappointed. |

Hi, I'm overweight and I need to lose weight on my stomach, is there other ways to lose my stomach then doing crunches on the floor that hurts my back. |

Crunches won't help you lose the weight around your mid-section. That's called spot training and it doesn't work. The only way to lose that weight is to burn more calories than you are eating. Eat less and exercise more. It really is that simple. That's why we created fatburn.com. By entering your food and exercise daily you know at the end of the day if you lost weight or not. |

Hi
Iwant to loose 10lbs. Currently going to an aerobics class 3-4 times per week. I hate machines!! about to sell my cross trainer, however do like the jump rope and do it to some dance music. Is it as effective as the machines. I'm building up my time, starting with 15 mins, including some jumping jacks etc, sit ups , more jump rope etc etc. |

Rose,
I hate those machines too! I understand. Your choice of jumping rope is excellent. It has the highest burn rate factor of any of the aerobic exercises. Your plan is perfect! Try to continue increasing the time you spend jumping rope until you get to 40+ minutes. Do this in small increments as to not burn yourself out. Keep it up, your'e on the right track. |
