Q & A with fatburn.com's Experts

Q:    How many grams of carbs, and how many grams of fat am i supposed have in a day?
Asked By VANESSA
A:    Try not to focus on the grams of carbs and fat. Focus on the amount of calories you eat verses the amount you burn. The summary page will tell you what percentages you are eat in but, the key to weight loss is to make sure you are burning more calories than you eat daily.

Q:    I am 34 years old and to control my weight I would run on my treadmill. I decided to start jump rope instead and found out that jump roping is alot tougher to do. For weight loss which is better to use a treadmill or jump robe.
Asked By Tommy Y.
A:    Jumping rope has a much higher caloric burn over time. However, as you've notice, it's harder to stay with for longer periods. The key is to get the most out of your body in the shortest amount of time. Try doing both. Maybe 20 minutes of jump rope and 40 on the treadmill to begin with. Then try to increase the jump rope as you get in better shape.

Q:    Is it better to seperate weight training from anaerobic (fat burning) exercises? Like one in morning and one in the evening?
Asked By Kelly
 A:    Kelly,

You don't have to separate them, but it is better to do the weight training first followed by the aerobic training. This burns off most of your blood sugar and puts you in a fat burning zone quicker when you go aerobic.

Q:    I'm not sure if you recently changed this on your site but I wanted to be clear that I am calculating my net burn calories correctly. Example: If my meals are 2,000 calories and my activities are 3,500 calories, my net burn is 1,500 calories. My goal is to burn 500 calories more than I consume per day. Given my goal, does that mean I need to subtract 500 calories from my net burn to determine how many available calories I can still consume? In this example my available calories would be 1,000? OR can I consume 1,500 calories to reach my goal? I am not sure if I need to subtract my goal calories to determine how many I have available to consume for the day. Please advise ASAP as this is critical in meeting my weight loss goals.
Asked By Karen
A:    If you eat 2000 calories and you burn 3500 your net burn is 1500 calories. Your net burn goal is 500, which means you are three times ahead of the game. You could eat 1000 calories more and still reach your goal.
