Mary,
The safest way to lose a few pounds is to make sure that you are eating more calories than you burn on a daily basis. Join fatburn.com, it's only 2.99 a week. Then, eat the food you like to eat and log them into the system. Fatburn.com will tell you exactly how many calories you ate and in what dietary percentages. Then log in what exercise you did for the day. The system will tell you exactly how many calories you burned. Then you look at the summary page and you will find out if you lost or gaine weight that day.
By doing this every day you will get an invaluable lesson on how much is too much when trying to lose weight. |

Hi! I am trying to lose weight but I have been sedentary for so long that my body is completely out of shape. I bought a treadmill and struggle to do 30 minutes a night. My legs hurt, my feet hurt and I get bored with it easily. I have been trying to get pregnant for the last year but my doctor says I shouldnt get pregnant at my current weight so he put me back on birth control. I have PCOS, which she says is why it is hard for me to lose weight but it seems like no matter what I do, my metablism wont budge. I have lost sight of what it means to eat right with all the fad diets I have been on and I just dont know where to start. I have been to my regular doctor for weight loss and she just tells me eat right and exercise...well, if I knew what that meant, I would have done it a long time ago! I keep waiting for my "lightbulb" moment...you know, when you hear peoples weightloss success stories and they always talk about how they saw a picture of themselves or tried on a peice of clothing that use to fit and they finally get it and start losing weight and getting healthy, but I'm beginning to think that will never happen. Can you please help me or give me some adivse. I dont know who else to ask and I hear you are an expert. I am 5 foot 3 inches and my last weight at the doctor two weeks ago was 298. Please respond. Thanks! |

Jeannie,
Your situation is very common, with many people feeling unsure of where to begin. The fad diets are killing the way American's eat. What you need to do is educate yourself as to how your body works and how you're going to burn off the calories you eat (plus more) each day.
The physics of life demand that you must burn more calories than you eat daily in order for you to lose weight. At fatburn.com we suggest that you begin slowly with making sure you are burning 500 more calories than you eat daily. When you do this your body will have to find energy to survive. Where your body finds this energy is in stored energy (fat). The 500 more calories burned than eaten daily will give you 3500 for the week and that equals one pound of weight loss a week.
We know that this isn't a very exciting way to go about losing weight and getting healthy, but it is the only way it's going to happen. All those other fancy named diets come down to these same simple facts. You have to burn more calories than you eat daily to lose weight.
Join the website, log what you eat, log how much you exercise and fatburn.com will tell you daily if you acheived you goal or not. This will give you an invaluable education on what you are eating and how to adjust it so you can lose the weight.
It's not an easy task. Please don't believe anyone that says it will be. By using fatburn.com daily we've had users lose 110 pound in a year and a half. Wouldn't you love to be 188 in 18 months? |

You will have to combine good eating and exercise to acheive your goal. Exercise alone will never be enough. In order to lose three pounds a week you will have to burn 1500 more calories than you eat. If you ate as you are eating now, that would take about three hours a day on the treadmill. If you learn to eat about 500 calories a day less then you would only have to spend two hours (still a lot of time) to acheive your goal. Use fatburn.com to know if you are eating the right amount of calories and exercising enough to reach your goal daily. It really works! |

Angie,
You want to eat as well as possible while eating the right kind of foods but not starving yourself. Can you have chocolate, meet and soda? Yes, but in small quantaties so as to satisfy your cravings while making sure you are always burning more calories than you eat. |

Why doesn't there seem to be a way to delete something that you've already entered? , or change your weight if you've already entered it? What if you log an incorrect entry and need to correc it? I don't see how I can remove one food item and replace it with another if I accidentally select the wrong one. |

Misty,
At the end of every entry row, of your meals and activities page, there is a red X. Just click that X and the entry will be deleted. Then you're good to try again. |
