Q & A with fatburn.com's Experts

 Q:    How do I cancel?
Asked By Tracy
A:    Your account was canceled, by your request, on the 19th. We sent you an email on that day as confirmation.

Q:    Hi Jim and Tom. I'm the publicist who has a meeting with you on Wednesday at 1PM. So of course I need to try your program to learn about it. So I started, and I'm either "mathematically challenged" or I'm missing a major point. My over/under goal is +165 which means to keep with my goal, I can only eat 165 more calories today. But my summary is telling me to eat 1220 calories (705 more). Why am I not understanding this? Does it have something to do with not going into "starvation mode?" If so, why wouldn't my summary be telling me to eat a total of 1000 calories daily...the so called minimum?
Asked By Maureen
 A:    Maureen,

The system is tellling you that you need to eat a min. of 1220 cals. to meet you min caloric needs. If you drop below that you risk slowing your BMR down and that can be worse than eating too much. Now, if you want to lose one pound a week and you eat 1220 you will have to burn 1720 every day to meet that goal. That's 500 more than you eat a day. If you wnat to burn two pounds a week under the same conditions you will have to burn 2220. That's 1000 more than you eat a day. Get it?

The so called minimum of 1000 is for the smallest of women and is used as a generalization when addressing all. The system calculates a much more specific minimum for you (1220).

As far as the rest of your question I don't think you have given me enough to answer with accuracy. If I'm reading this correctly your saying that 1220 (your min.) - 705 (where you are now) = 515. That would be what you've eaten to that point in the day. The over/under is saying you have 165 left to eat and still meet your goal. 515 + 165 = 680 total cals for the day. That makes no sense and the system would have thrown up red flags everywhere to stop you from setting a goal that unrealistic.

The over/under is a running total guild for the day and not something that will be constant. The number that will be constant is the calories needed to be burned for the day to meet your goal.

The system is very simple. Eat the minimum caloric needs for the day, burn 500 more calories than you eat for the day, everyday of the week and you will lose one pound. In other words, physics 101.

Q:    I eat healthy and excersese 1 hour to an hour and ahalf doing 30 mins. of cardio about 4 days a week and work out my stomach every day, but I can not seem to get rid of the fat on my stomach especialy my lower tummy, which is my main concern. my question is are there any excersises I can do that will target that area?
Asked By Tanya
A:    Implicit in any question of this type is that there is some exercise that you can do that will make your stomach awesome.

Here's the answer: Spot weight reduction is a myth!

You lose weight all over your body at the same time.

In other words, it matters not one bit how many sit-ups, crunches or other types of spot training exercises you do.

The only way to trim down in any area is to burn more calories than you eat.

Q:    how many calories should you burn in a day to maintain your body weight?
Asked By Anonymous
A:    To maintain your body weight you need to burn the same amount of calories you eat each day. If you eat 1700 calories one day you then have to burn 1700 to not gain weight. If the next day you eat 1900 calories you have to burn 1900 in order to not gain weight. It will change every day which is what makes fatburn.com such a useful tool.

Q:    If I do a 30 minute workout at curves, what activity is that in the activities menu?
Asked By Jennifer
A:    Use "circuit training" in the activities list for your workout at Curves.
