I joined your site because I'm trying to lower my percentage of body fat, but I'm still trying to gain muscle. I go to the gym every other day and work hard for about an hour if not more. I was wondering if it was still possible to gain a lot of muscle while having a slight calorie deficit. Can it be done? |

Yes, absolutely. The most effective way to burn fat is aerobic exercise and we recommend you weight train first and then exercise aerobically for the best results. Click the Health & Nutrition tab and read the articles, The fastest way to burn calories while exercising" and "The 3 Step Process to Losing Weight" for more information. |

I have read that to be healthy you should take around 10,000 steps per day. I recently purchased a pedometer to monitor my steps but I am having trouble setting the stride length. What is the correct way to measure your stride? Thanks!! |

We are not familiar with how the pedometer works and it may in fact vary from brand to brand. For more information on exercise and health, click the Health & Nutrition tab and check out articles on a variety of subjects. |

I am 39 yrs old and I burn 634 calories in 45 minutes, am I burning fat? |
|
| Asked By Linda |
| A: |
|
It's highly unlikely you are actually burning 634 calories in 45 minutes of exercise since the average person burns around 200 calories for every 20 minutes of aerobic exercise. Read the Health & Nutrition article, "the fastest way to burn calories during exercise" for more information. |
