Q:    I just bought an eliptical machine, and I wondered if the calorie count was off. In 20minutes it said I burned 400 calories. Do you know actually how much it should be? Am I still getting something worthwhile in that time span, along with doing some floor exercises.
Asked By Anonymous
A:    On average, you will burn 200 calories every 20 minutes you exercise in your aerobic zone. To determine your aerobic zone, click the Health & Nutrition tab and read the featured article, "The fastest way to burn calories while exercising."  Q:    When I stand on my weighing scale the difference between morning and evening measurements is between 1 to 1.5 Kgs more. Is this normal. If so then why ????
Asked By Raj
A:    Yes it is perfectly normal! Read the health & Nutrition article, "How to weigh yourself" for the answer to your question.

Q:    If I exerciese on the treadmill for 15 minutes, then jump to the ski machine for 30 minutes, then jump to the bike for 15 minutes, will I still burn fat? Or do I have to stay on one machine for at least 20 minutes or more. I was just thinking that since I am switching machines under 20 minutes of exercising that this will stop my fat burning? I just want to know if this is okay to do?
Asked By Demond
A:    Switching machines is fine and a great way to stay motivated. As long as you keep exercising at the same rate, you are still burning fat! Read the Health & Nutrition article, "The fastest way to burn calories while exercising" for more information.

Q:    YOU ARE SAYING THAT FOR EVEY 3,500 CALORIES A PERSON GAINS A POUND, BUT ARE ALL THOSE CALORIES OF FAT OR THEY ARE INLCUDED BY THE NON-FAT CALORIES(LIKE CALORIES FROM THE ORANGES, APPLES,JUICES, ETC)? YOU ALSO SAID THAT WE HAVE TO LOSE 500 CALORIES MORE THAN WE CONSUME, SO WHAT I UNDERSTAND FOR WHAT YOU SAID IS THAT IF I CONSUMED 1500 CALORIES I HAVE TO BURN OUT 2000 CALORIES, THAT WOULD BE HARD TO DO HUH? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
Asked By Anonymous
A:    From a weight loss standpoint, calories are calories and yes, if you consume 3500 calories you will gain one pound. It doesn't matter if those calories come from carrots or cheesecake. However, we at fatburn.com believe you should try to eat a healthy, balanced diet for good health. Read the Health & Nutrition article, "What is a calorie?" for more information.

Burning 500 calories more than you consume is easier than you think because you burn a certain number of calories (between 1000-2000) every day just by being alive. This is your basal metabolic rate. For example, if you burn 1400 calories a day just by living and you consume 1500 calories; you would need to burn an additional 600 calories by exercising if you wanted to lose a pound a week. Join fatburn.com to find out how many calories you burn (based on your age, height, gender, stress level, etc.) and how many calories you can eat and reach your weight loss goals.
