Spot weight reduction is a myth! You lose weight all over your body at the same time. The only way to lose weight in ANY area is to burn more calories than you eat. You need to burn 500 calories per day MORE than you consume to lose one pound of fat per week. Click the Health & Nutrition" tab and read the article, "How do I get a six-pack?" for more information. Join fatburn.com today to learn how many calories you need to burn to lose those extra pounds.
The elliptical machine gives you an aerobic work out, which is great for burning calories and fat. Read the featured article, "The fastest way to burn calories while exercising" for more information.

Hi there!! I just have a quick question. I play soccer and I go to the gym 5 days a week and rest two days. I always run 30 minutes first losing like about 480 calories, then I go lift weight for about 2 hours ( don't know the calories I lose)after I do all the lifting, I run for ten more minutes losing like around 180 ( that is what the machine says) I am not fat, I am getting a great body, but all I want to know is how many calories should I lose a day and if all the run and weight lifting should be done as I am doing it every day? Thanks for yur time. |

First of all, it is unlikely that you burn 480 calories by running for 30 minutes. The number is probably closer to 300 (roughly 200 for every 20 minutes). If you join fatburn.com for one month (it's only $7.99!)you will learn EXACTLY how many calories you burn just by being alive (based on your age, gender, height, etc.) plus how many calories you burn during exercise. You will also be able to enter the foods you eat and learn how many calories you are consuming each day. fatburn.com will do the rest and calculate your "Net Burn" for you. If you want to lose a pound a week, you need to burn 500 calories a day more than you consume. |

You are saying that by burning the same calories you gained, the weight will still the same. What about if you gained 900 calories, and you burned 500, does the calories left follow the next calories you will eat the next day? And if you gained 1000 calories and burned 600, does the weight will still the same or it will vary? To have a equal weight, do I have to lose EXACTLY the same gained and burned calories? |

One of the most frequently asked questions is, "How many Calories should I eat?" The amount of Calories you should consume each day will change. We all have a basal metabolic rate which when combinined with workday activities, stress levels determines how many Calories your body burns each day (just by virtue of being alive). This number varies from around 1000-2000 calories depending on your gender, age, height, etc. Register and log on to fatburn.com to accurately find out how many Calories you eat verses how many Calories you burn and the Caloric difference. Remember, you must burn 3,500 more Calories than you eat to lose one pound of body fat. If you want to maintain your weight, simply eat the same number (on average) of calories you burn every day. |

One of the most frequently asked questions is, "How many Calories should I eat?" The amount of Calories you should consume each day will change. We all have a basal metabolic rate which is determined by the continued function of our cardiovascular, organ, endocrine, nervous and digestive systems. The energy needs of these bodily functions create the minimum amount of Calories your body needs to run normally. Combining this with workday activities, stress levels and exercise you can determine how many Calories your body burns each day (just by virtue of being alive). Although there are no absolutes, here are some minimum Caloric guidelines to follow so your body continues to function normally. * Adult Women 1000 Cal. * Nursing Women 1500 Cal. * Adult Men 1500 Cal. |

Dieting isn’t about how many fats, proteins or carbohydrates you eat. It’s about how many calories you eat versus how many you burn. The USDA recommends that no more than 30 percent of your diet is comprised of fat. You can eat these foods high in Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and still lose weight- just keep the calories you consume below the calories you burn. Eat a balanced diet and register on fatburn.com to find out how your diet measures up when crunching the numbers of weight loss. |
